Solomonar, a team of engineers and pilots in Cluj-Napoca and participant in our Vanguard Accelerator Cohort #1 has developed a specialized drone interceptor designed to track, destabilize, and destroy hostile military drones.

With aerial drones dictating the vast majority of combat operations near the border, local defense tech R&D is ramping up. This new domestic solution aims to provide a fast, cost-effective countermeasure to low-altitude aerial threats.

Key specs of the hardware:

→ ⚡ The interceptor can launch from the ground and reach speeds of up to 300 km/h, climbing to a maximum altitude of 5,000 meters to neutralize targets within seconds.
→ 🕹️ It carries a 500-gram explosive payload and is operated via first-person view (FPV) goggles by a ground pilot, utilizing visual target locking before executing a kinetic or proximity strike.
→ 💶 If moved into mass production, the manufacturing cost per unit is estimated at approximately €5,000—offering a highly economical alternative to traditional anti-air missile systems.
