May 16 – 31, 2026
May 19 – A 21-year-old Brooklyn, NY man was charged with theft by deception as a result of a Detective Bureau investigation of fraud reported at a Route 22 auto dealership.
May 22 – Officers were detailed to a Morris Avenue pharmacy on a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, the suspect was located in the parking lot by responding officers. The suspect, a 40-year-old East Orange woman, was arrested and charged with theft, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant out of South Orange. Merchandise totaling $11.99 was recovered and returned to the pharmacy.
May 26 – A 45-year-old Springfield man was charged with theft by deception as a result of a Detective Bureau investigation of fraud reported by a Springfield resident.
May 29 – On May 16, Officers responded to a Route 22 hotel on a report of a male harassing an employee. As a result of a follow-up investigation by Detective Bureau personnel, a 30-year-old Neptune man was charged with lewdness.
