Hearing loss is sometimes mistaken for confusion. Before assuming someone is ignoring you, consider whether they heard your words clearly.
• Face your loved one.
• Lower the television volume.
• Speak clearly without shouting.
• Give one person time to speak.
Ask the care team: “Would a hearing evaluation help?”
