Don’t Step On A Bee Day buzzes into action every July 10, reminding us of the critical role bees play in our ecosystem. To celebrate the holiday, we had a BEE-utiful photo shoot with our staff this morning. In the afternoon, our residents watched a series of beekeeping videos courtesy of Guelph Universities beekeeping program. We finished the day with a buzzy Happy Hour performance from Curt Smith. Fridays at Montvale are always a treat! See you all next week!

It’s raining cats and dogs over at The Montvale today; cat and dog toys, that is ! Each month, we commit to an Act of Service. These Acts of Service are done in the spirit of the works done by Martin Luther King Jr. With that in mind, when we found out the APL needed our help, the community jumped to action. We collected beds, toys, cages, and food to help support a cause we can all get behind. The residents were so psyched to help that we decided to roll our collection over into the month of July as well. Stay tuned to see what else we gather for donations!

Last night, we celebrated our monthly Candlelight Dinner! Our theme was inspired by the July 10th holiday, “Don’t Step on a Bee” Day. This holiday is celebrated nationally to bring attention to the importance of protecting our native bee populations! These impactful pollinators also provide us with one of natures sweetest treats, honey! All of our dishes tonight were honey infused, and honey…we loved it!

Our staff and residents dressed in their team colors and gathered together (with popcorn and crackerjacks of course) to watch the Cardinal Cub weekend series finale! Which team is gonna win today?!

Happy Fourth of July from everyone at The Montvale! On this 250th birthday of our country, we celebrated with community, good food, and KILLER outfits. Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. 🇺🇸
