This Sunday we continue in our series studying the Gospel of Mark. Pastor Jake will be sharing a message titled, ”Heart Surgery” on Mark 10:1-12. Jesus was asked a difficult question about divorce, but His answer went deeper than the question. He revealed that behind many broken relationships is a heart that has grown hard and that God’s grace is able to soften, heal, and transform what we cannot fix ourselves. Whether you’re married, divorced, single, or struggling in a relationship, this message will speak to every heart in the room.
Join us this Sunday as we look at the condition of our hearts.
In Mark 9:42-50, Jesus warns his disciples about sin and hell. It’s a reminder to us of the reality of hell. It’s a scary place because God will never be there. God is all that is good, pure, light - hell cannot be any of these things without God.
That’s why we must share the full picture of the Gospel and who God is. We cannot fully grasp salvation without understanding what we’re saved from and for. We’re saved from sin and hell. And we’re saved for the kingdom, to bring glory to God.
When the Gospel is shared with someone and they reject it, they’ve made a decision that will impact them not just today but forever. There’s no second chances once we die. Hell is eternal for the person who has not accepted Jesus’ atonement for their sins. But for those who have accepted Jesus’ grace, they will join him in heaven for eternity.
