The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Tornado Warning for:

• Northern Macon County
• Southern Logan County
• Southwestern De Witt County

⏰ Until 5:15 PM CDT

At 4:23 PM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Elkhart, or 9 miles south of Lincoln, moving east at 50 mph.

⚠️ This storm is moving toward northern portions of Macon County, including communities near Maroa, Argenta and Oreana.

Hazards:
🌪️ Tornado possible
🧊 Quarter-size hail

Communities impacted include:
• Mount Pulaski around 4:30 PM
• Latham around 4:35 PM
• Chestnut around 4:35 PM

Other locations in the path include Maroa, Argenta and Oreana.

At 4:19 PM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Tallula, near Petersburg, moving east at 55 mph.

⚠️ This storm is moving toward communities northeast of Springfield and could approach the Decatur area later this evening if it remains organized.

🧊 Ping pong ball size hail

Communities impacted include:
• Athens around 4:25 PM
• Sherman around 4:30 PM
• Riverton around 4:35 PM
• Williamsville around 4:35 PM

Other locations in the storm's path include Dawson, Cornland, Buffalo and Illiopolis.

• Northeastern Sangamon County
• Northeastern Cass County
• Southeastern Mason County

⏰ Until 4:45 PM CDT

At 3:50 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located over Greenview, near Petersburg, moving east at 65 mph.

Hazards:
💨 60 mph wind gusts
🧊 Quarter-size hail

Communities impacted include:
• Greenview
• Middletown
• Lincoln
• Chestnut

Hail damage to vehicles is possible, while damaging winds may impact trees, power lines, roofs, and siding.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 10 PM for much of Central Illinois.

Move indoors immediately and stay away from windows. Continue to monitor conditions as this storm races eastward across the area.

⚠️ SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ⚠️

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Macon, DeWitt, Piatt, and northern Moultrie counties until 11:15 AM.

Strong thunderstorms moving east at 45 mph are capable of producing:
🌬️ Wind gusts up to 60 mph
🧊 Penny-size hail

Communities in the warning include Decatur, Forsyth, Maroa, Mount Zion, Clinton, Monticello, Warrensburg, Cerro Gordo, Bement, and surrounding areas.

Damaging winds may cause damage to trees, siding, and roofs. Move indoors immediately and stay away from windows.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect for central Illinois until 3:00 PM.
