The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for:

• Piatt County
• Moultrie County
• Northeastern Christian County
• South Central De Witt County
• Northeastern Sangamon County
• Northwestern Shelby County

⏰ Until 5:45 PM CDT

At 4:49 PM, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Maroa to near Niantic to near Dawson, moving east at 50 mph.

Hazards:
💨 60 mph wind gusts
🧊 Quarter-size hail
🌪️ A tornado remains possible

Communities impacted include:
• Decatur
• Forsyth
• Mount Zion
• Argenta
• Oreana
• Cerro Gordo
• Monticello
• Cisco
• Harristown

Additional locations in the storm's path include Bement, Blue Mound, Macon, Hammond, Ivesdale, Dalton City, Atwood, Lovington and Arthur.

Move indoors immediately and stay away from windows. Damaging winds may cause downed trees, power outages and property damage.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Tornado Warning for:

• Southern Menard County
• Southern Logan County
• Northern Sangamon County

⏰ Until 5:00 PM CDT

At 4:19 PM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Tallula, near Petersburg, moving east at 55 mph.

⚠️ This storm is moving toward communities northeast of Springfield and could approach the Decatur area later this evening if it remains organized.

Hazards:
🌪️ Tornado possible
🧊 Ping pong ball size hail

Communities impacted include:
• Athens around 4:25 PM
• Sherman around 4:30 PM
• Riverton around 4:35 PM
• Williamsville around 4:35 PM

Other locations in the storm's path include Dawson, Cornland, Buffalo and Illiopolis.

At 3:50 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located over Greenview, near Petersburg, moving east at 65 mph.

• Greenview
• Middletown
• Lincoln
• Chestnut

Hail damage to vehicles is possible, while damaging winds may impact trees, power lines, roofs, and siding.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 10 PM for much of Central Illinois.
