The new Chiremba Early Childhood Development (ECD) Block was officially commissioned by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Harare Metropolitan Province, Senator C.Z. Tawengwa, on 2 June 2026.

​Prior to the commissioning ceremony, the Minister conducted a tour of local medical infrastructure. His itinerary included visits to Ruwa Local Board healthcare facilities and a private hospital (Aeden hospital )located in Windsor Park to assess health delivery in the area.

​Minister Tawengwa highly commended Ruwa Local Board for partnering with the community for growth. He noted that this close collaboration between the local authority, residents and private sector is driving meaningful development across the education and health sectors.

The Permanent Secretary for Harare Metropolitan Province, Dr. Shingirayi Mushamba, conducted a familiarisation visit to the Ruwa Local Board to assess local administrative progress.

​Discussions centered on the progress of Ruwa's master plan and the challenges faced in achieving strategic objectives aligned with Vision 2030.

​Dr. Mushamba strongly emphasized that the foundation of a world-class province rests on civic engagement. He reminded officials that achieving this status depends on how effectively the authority engages with residents and handles their grievances.
