Masvingo Mirror Health Correspondent, Catherine Murombedzi won the Best Investigative Story on Violence, Exploitation or Harmful Practices at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Zimbabwe Provincial Media Awards held in Mutare yesterday.

The awards were sponsored by AHF and National AIDS Council (NAC) Zimbabwe.
Guests included AHF National Medical Director Dr Sandra Shawarira Bote and Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Misheck Mugadza. Mugadza was represented by his Principal Administrative Officer, Simon Sigauke.

City of Mutare is proposing to reintroduce the Education Special Rate in its 2026 budget to support the construction and upgrading of schools, as the city battles a growing shortage of learning facilities.
Speaking during one of the ongoing budget consultation meetings, Acting Finance Director Ronald Guni said the city is facing a widening gap between the number of pupils and the availability of education infrastructure.

Kadoma Town Council has been criticised by Acting Auditor General, Rheah Kujinga for ignoring procurement recommendations given by its evaluation committee without giving any reasons.
Kujinga’s 2024 report for the council said Kadoma procured work suits, safety shoes and oils from suppliers that were not recommended by its evaluation committee.
