Introducing our Thandokuhle Sibanda, also as "Thandoe" is a 22-year-old slam champion, poet from Bulawayo Zimbabwe. Her poetry journey begins in her early teens when she learns how to cope with the noises around her and works her way towards her center.
Her first stage appearance was at Bulawayo 120 years, commemoration under the mentorship of renowned poet and actress Sithandazile Dube She then became part of "Starbrite", a National Talent show where she became one of the few poets to make it to the finals two seasons in a row alongside Tanaka Ects Chuma. Thandoe won the Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe and Intwasa ARTS Festival koBULAWAYO poetry slams in 2019, she is also a two time Bulawayo Arts Awards nominee for outstanding poet and outstanding community engagement,
She has performed on several other stages both nationally and internationally, and worked with some of the greatest names in the Zimbabwean arts sector including Mhlanga, Simon Mambazo Phiri, Nkwali, Thandi Dhlana, Sithandazile Dube, Sox The Poet and Iyasa. She has also shared the stage with great talent such as Bastirai Chigama, Tinashe Tafirenyika, Philani A. Nyoni, Delah Dube, Zolani Mkhiva, ASA, Solomon Joseph, Siphokazi Jonas, Masa and the band, Edith Wewutonga, Asaph and Holy Ten.
