DRUMROLL🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
You probably need to sit down for this post. This 31 year old momma and wife brought the heat to this shoot.
This transformation journey was about investing in lean gains. We got thicker, we Nailed the goal!
Her words to me were "B I would like thick legs and a b***y". We got then alright ‼️.
We lifted and ate our way to some great lean gains. Scroll right down to the bottom to see the comparison pictures first, then scroll back up to see the rest of the pictures. What a beauty.
I am beyond proud
She says "It’s kind of funny, joining Sweat Nation bootcamp actually taught me to slow down, even though I was running faster than ever. As a career mum with a demanding job, family responsibilities, and a chronic ability to say YES (to everyone but myself), I hit some serious walls. Burnouts, anxiety, depression, you name it. It took a lot to get me to the point where I finally admitted, “I need help.”
That’s when my Fuzzo (friend and cousin) invited me back to Sweatnation in June 2024. I was stuck in a gloomy funk, and honestly, I just needed a dopamine fix and some fresh air away from my work-from-home bubble. I’d been around bootcamp before, supporting my husband, but this time, I was showing up for me.
Those 5:30 a.m. wakeups in the harsh winter? Absolutely brutal. But honestly, nothing compared to the storm in my head, the anxiety and burnout. And you know what? The hour flew by because I was too busy trying to survive the workout without using up all of Coach B’s glucose (seriously, I was asking for glucose ALL THE TIME) As the months went on, I got physically stronger, but more importantly, I got better at showing up for myself. The constant ball of anxiety started to shrink. I made some incredible friends, united by our shared body aches and bootcamp battle scars. For the first time, I made a real vow to put my needs first and I was upholding that
Coach B always says, “To get steady, you have to wobble.” That’s stuck with me, not just in workouts but in life. I’m learning to stay comfortable with slow starts, falling, failing, setting boundaries, and saying no (with or without an explanation). I’m finally giving myself permission to come first, so I can be fully present for my family and work. I’ve even fallen in love with weights through the personal training session who knew. Sweatnation has been so much more than a place to work out my body, it’s helped me heal my mind while building up these “banging” muscles and firm glutes (the icing on the cake!).
So next time you see a skinny person at the gym, be kind, we’re all just trying to get healthy here". ......................
The Sweatnation Team is proud of you. .......................

This has been a long & windy journey which reflects the reality most face on their journey to being in a healthy body. What I love about her story was her continous, although haphazard, returns to try and reach her goal. She eventually got to a place of understanding that the change she wanted would come from her making a firm decision & then show up consistently. We worked our way to better health and a strong body with modification after modification due to limitations. See what she wrote.
Fiona says - :
"I joined the Sweat Nation family in August 2018, 3 months after delivering my second baby via c-section. I knew I had joined the right gym after realising there was no “one size fits all “ when it came to the weight loss programs. Barbs takes her time to know and understand all her clients, I felt safe exercising with her as I had a lower back problem and diastasis recti(abdominal muscles separation from previous pregnancies). All my workouts were tailored to suit what my body could handle and I never felt short changed in any way, I would still get a good work out even with modified structurals.
However I was never 100% consistent when it came to attendance, hence my progress was slow 2018-2021. July 2021 I experienced unexpected loss, it was the darkest time of my life, during my grieving time I realized there was a thin line between falling into a depression or working hard on my total wellness and getting better. I made a decision to work on my wellness and it meant mental & physical wellness.
I got better at attending my gym sessions consistently, by January 2023 I was fully committed, going to the gym 5 times a week, hardly missed a session throughout the year& I also complained less in the gym 🤠I pushed myself beyond the usual weights that my body was used to.
The gym became my happy place, where I felt I was pushing intentional goals for my mental & physical well being. I became stronger mentally and physically, saw myself lifting heavier than I ever imagined.......CONTINUED IN COMMENTS section
