Saturday is upon us and we would love to grab your attention as you rest from all the hard work of the week that was and talk about the PLAN APPROVAL PROCESS. A lot of times we hear and see properties being demolished, stalling of developments and in some cases forced redesigning because the approval process would not have been done the right away.
We consulted EvanLay Planning Consultancy for a quick and simple outline of the plan approval process.
1. It all starts with the architecture. The architect designs what you require onto the site over a meeting
2. After designing, the plan is printed and submitted to the District office/City Council where an approval fee is charged and the plan goes through a vigorous process of checking in various departments. This is where ownership, environmental impact, drainage and sanitation, fire risks among other aspects are checked.
3. Building inspectors and town planning also approve the plan and it is important to note that at this stage, amendments might be required and it involves corrections and resubmissions until the final approval happens, giving the property owner the permission to start building.
Have you had any experience you would like to share during the plan approval process and also share your thoughts.

You've just survived the month-end hustles to pay up your rentals, get new accomodation sorted and just as you are about to settle.... Guess what 🤔? Schools are about to reopen and that can bring a lot of pressure on you.
We have a few tips for you to help you quickly manage some of the stresses that come with preparing for the little ones for the new term.
1. They grow so fast!! They literally do! So get your kids to try out their uniforms and see if they still fit, you might need to make a dash to get a bigger size. Don't forget the shoes 👞
2. If you are enrolling your child into a new school or there's a new teacher, look for anxiety signs and if you find any, it's a good idea to visit the new school or make an appointment with the new teacher if they are available and reassure your child that there are so many new kids coming too and they will do just fine.
3. Get all the new term requirements from the school i.e. stationery, sporting equipment and anything else required
4. If your child is going to be traveling to and from school by bus, please do an independent assessment of the safety of the vehicle and raise any concerns with the school that you might have
5. Speaking of safety, your child's backpack 🎒 must be a safe tool for them. What do we mean by that? The size must be right (not too big and not too small), the weight must allow child to move freely without straining them, do a packing exercise with them and ask if they are comfortable...
That's all we have for now and the most important and last tip is to make a checklist of everything and tick off as you go!!
