World Food Day
As we commemorate World Food Day today, October 16, under the theme "Right to Food for a Better Life and Better Future," the Educators Union of Zimbabwe (EUZ) is perturbed by the alarming food crisis and nutrition levels of our members.
Most Teachers' families struggle to access nutritious food due to low incomes and rural-urban disparities. This compromises their well-being, teaching effectiveness, and student learning outcomes.
We urge the government to pay fair salaries that afford nutritious food and invest in rural development initiatives.
We advocate for sustainable agriculture programs, school feeding programs, and community-based initiatives promoting food security and nutrition.
Let's safeguard our teachers' right to quality food for a better life and future.
