JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL SERVICES SUPERINTENDENT

Job Purpose:
The Mining Technical Services Superintendent leads and coordinates all technical aspects of mining operations, including mine planning, surveying and drill & blast. The role ensures optimal short- and long-term mine plans are in place and aligned with production and business goals, while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Mine Planning and Engineering
• Oversee the development and ex*****on of short and medium-term mine plans as per client schedules.
• Ensure alignment of mine plans with production targets, safety, and environmental standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to mine planning and engineering teams.
2. Drill & Blast and Geotechnical
• Oversee drill and blast operations and implementation to optimize fragmentation and cost.
• Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to ensure pit wall stability and ground support.
3. Surveying
• Ensure accurate and timely mine surveying and compliance with statutory requirements.
4. Leadership and Team Development
• Lead and develop a technical services team.
• Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
5. Reporting and Compliance
• Prepare and present technical reports, KPIs, and performance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, mining legislation, and environmental regulations.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, finance, and environmental teams.
• Interface with external consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6–12 years of relevant experience in open-pit
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Proficiency in mining software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, Deswik).
• Knowledge of mining legislation, health & safety, and environmental best practices.
• Must be a member of EIZ
