Talk With Frank

On the 16th of June by God’s grace I turn 74. Yet I have chosen to mark this milestone not in celebration of self but in service and love by sharing it with the children of Kabwata Orphanage on Saturday the 13th of June at 12.30 hours. This is more than a birthday. It is a quiet testimony of gratitude to life itself and a celebration of the human spirit expressed through compassion kindness and selfless giving. As someone who understands what it means to be an orphan this moment carries a deeply personal weight in my heart.

My sincere gratitude goes to BMTV Zambia Channel 114 Director Mrs Kamanga a woman of God whose selfless support and leadership opened doors that made this gathering possible. Through her kindness the partnership with Trade Kings Group was made possible leading to the generous donation of mattresses and blankets. To Trade Kings I extend heartfelt appreciation. You have given more than materials you have given warmth dignity and a reminder that love is still present among us through action.

I also bow in deep appreciation to Mrs Angela Miyanda affectionately known as Ba Kalamba who since 1988 has devoted her life to the care of vulnerable children. She is a mother in the truest sense of the word a living example of sacrifice endurance and unconditional love. Her work is beyond measure and beyond words and I honour her with profound gratitude.

My appreciation also goes to Dr Rozious Siatwambo, Felix Nkulukusa, my friend Nicholas from Buzz management my colleagues and every donor and well wisher who has given cash clothes prayers encouragement and support. True generosity is selfless it does not seek recognition yet it changes lives. Every act of kindness speaks to a child saying you matter you are seen you are loved. I am myself a product of kindness and I carry that truth with humility.

To my usual culprits who have stood with me faithfully for the past three years I remain deeply grateful. B Flow returns once again Pontiano has arrived from ku gumbo and Ahmed will bless us with the sound of his saxophone. This year is made even more special with Mumba Yachi joining the family while whispers continue that Esther Chungu may also grace the occasion bringing joy and light to the children.

As Saturday draws near I extend a humble invitation to all well wishers, there is still room for more kindness more compassion and more selfless acts of giving. Whether through a donation your presence or a prayer you will be part of something meaningful and lasting. Together we are not only celebrating a birthday we are affirming humanity itself.

Awe tuli ba kutotela fwe ma orphans. May God bless every hand that gives and every heart that cares.
