Osmosis is the process by which water molecules move from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration.
Diffusion IS the movement of substances from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration.

When an animal cell is placed in a hyportonic solution ( more water ) the plant cell gains water by the process of osmosis and burst ..the bursting open of an animal cell due to osmotic gain of water IS called cell Lysis ...to be continued
