How many ultrasound scans should a pregnant woman have during her pregnancy?
-Breast Cancer Screening in the Radiology Department-
1. Mammography (40 years and above as of current data)
2. Ultrasound (no age restriction)
A mammogram is an X-ray picture of the breast. It is used to look for early signs of breast cancer.
Regular mammograms (usually annually is recommended) can help find breast cancer early, sometimes up to three years before it can be felt.
An ultrasound of the breast is a scan of the breast using an ultrasound machine. No ionizing radiation is used so any age group and even pregnant women can get a breast ultrasound.
