🌱 Women Leading Climate Action in Chipata!
We are proud to share that Life Initiative for Change (LIC) has officially launched 15 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Chipata District under the SHE-RISE Pilot Project – Women Leading Climate Action.
It was inspiring to witness the excitement, energy, and readiness of the women as they take the lead in shaping solutions for their communities.
Through SHE-RISE, LIC will work alongside these women-led groups to:
✔️ Strengthen SHGs as local financing mechanisms
✔️ Drive community-led climate action
✔️ Support sustainable livelihoods and local initiatives
At a time when donor funding is shrinking, this is a powerful opportunity to invest in local solutions that are owned and driven by communities themselves.
💬 The groups are ready. The leadership is there. The journey has begun.
We invite partners and stakeholders to join us in scaling this model and supporting women-led climate resilience.
🤝 Together, we can build communities that are resilient, empowered, and thriving.

🌟 Launch of the Skills4Jobs Program! 🌟
Life Initiative for Change (LIC) is proud to announce the launch of its Skills4Jobs Program, a community-driven initiative designed to empower young women and girls with practical, marketable skills that open pathways to employment and entrepreneurship.

The program aims to equip vulnerable young women particularly those out of school or unemployed with hands-on skills while integrating essential sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, wellness checks, and climate-smart business practices. Through this approach, LIC is not only promoting economic empowerment but also improving health and environmental outcomes within the community.

Today marked a major milestone as the first group of girls mobilized by LIC reported to Sibas Hair Braiding Saloon, where they were warmly welcomed to begin their mentorship and job placement program. Under this partnership, Sibas Hair Braiding Saloon will mentor the girls in professional hairdressing and salon management, while LIC will provide continuous support through mentorship facilitation, health services, climate-friendly messaging, and linkages to employment linkages including self-employment.
This partnership demonstrates the power of collaboration between civil society and the private sector in driving sustainable local impact.

💡 Community Call:
If you know a girl who is eager to learn a skill and build her future, reach out to Life Initiative for Change (LIC) to be part of upcoming mentorship and employment opportunities under the Skills for Jobs Program.

🤝 Partner Call:
LIC welcomes support from development partners and private sector actors to expand this initiative to more communities and industries, creating lasting pathways to livelihoods, health, and empowerment.

Life Initiative for Change Scales Up the Integrated Climate Action for Improved Health (ICAIH) Project.

Life Initiative for Change is proud to announce the scale-up of our ICAIH (Integrated Climate Action for Improved Health) project. Building on the success of our initial efforts, we are expanding our impact to further integrate climate action with health improvement across communities. In collaboration with our dedicated partners, we are now ready to implement innovative, large-scale solutions that address both climate change and public health challenges.

The ICAIH project focuses on creating sustainable and resilient communities by combining climate action with health-focused interventions. Through this scale-up, we aim to reach more communities with impactful solutions such as promoting clean energy, improving water sanitation, enhancing healthcare access, and reducing pollution—all critical to improving health outcomes and addressing the climate crisis.

Life Initiative for Change has been working tirelessly to empower communities to adapt to climate change while mitigating its negative impacts on their health. The scale-up of ICAIH will strengthen our existing efforts and expand our reach, ensuring that vulnerable populations are better prepared for climate-related health risks, such as respiratory diseases, waterborne illnesses, and heat-related conditions.

We are grateful for our continued partnership with organizations that share our vision for a healthier, sustainable future. Together, we will take even bolder steps to ensure that climate action leads to improved health outcomes for all.

Stay tuned as we continue to scale up this vital project, working towards a future where climate resilience and public health go hand in hand.
