A NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING: CHAPTER 6

I tore apart the entire bedroom, scattering everything in that damn room. Nothing made sense to me that night.

It was around 23:30 hrs. I couldn’t hold my emotions any longer, waiting for that son of a b***h to return. Desperation consumed me, so I went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife.

The only thought echoing in my mind was to end my own life. At that point, I didn’t even care that I was pregnant with his child.

Just as I was about to go through with it, he walked in.

"Chipo, what the heck is going on here? Why are you here? When did you come in? Who sent you?" he asked, his voice filled with confusion.

I cut him off.

"Shut up, Nono! You good-for-nothing man! Is this what you do?" I yelled, gripping the sharp knife. "Is this what you’ve been doing behind my back? After I gave myself to you? After I trusted you? I let my husband-to-be go just to be with you, and this is how you repay me?"

"I never asked you to leave your husband. You did that on your own," he replied coldly.

"Shut up, Nono! I'm pregnant with your child!"

He scoffed. "Who even knows if that bastard is mine?"

Rage burned inside me. "Don’t you ever call my child a bastard! After everything, after you kept forcing yourself into my life, you dare say that?"

"Oh, please!" he sneered. "How do I even know the baby is mine when you slept with both of us on the same day?"

My voice dropped in shock. "I gave you everything. Every part of me. And this is how you repay me?" Tears welled in my eyes. "You slept with another woman right in front of me?"

"What? I didn’t even know you were here! You didn’t tell me you were coming. This is what happens when you show up unannounced," he snapped. "Where were you hiding, anyway?"
