Whoever Manchester United decide to sign in any position is fine by me. I trust this new sporting leadership when it comes to recruitment.

Since INEOS and the new football structure were put in place, some departments we thought were finished have come back to life. The scouting department has clearly improved. More importantly, their recommendations are now being acted on, unlike in previous years.

When Lammens was first linked with United, many fans preferred Emiliano Martínez instead. Some people even doubted how good a goalkeeper from the Belgian league could be. But last night, he showed again why he has been our most important signing of the summer.

For the winning goal against Everton, the new signings... Cunha, Mbeumo and Šeško combined perfectly to make it happen. That goal shows the positive impact they have already made on the team. Now, all we want is more of the same.

As fans, we may complain, but time usually proves us wrong. I expect to be impressed by the quality of this summer’s signings, even though I have already prepared myself to be disappointed by the number of players we bring in.
