Pax Endurance Ride Participation.

Very bad weather was forecast for this ride: we only participated with two horses this time. We were blessed with very fine weather for teh duration of the ride. Friday afternoon and Saturday morning we had partly cloudy skies. We had no rain until all the ride was over. What a difference compared to the weather driving up to the ride and coming back. Big thunder storms on Friday morning and Saturday in the late afternoon. Streets in Bela Bela were all flooded. We hope you enjoy the pictures of the ride.

We had some good results with our horses at the race in Pienaarsdam. In the 80 km W***y Oosthuizen on Veldsman, one of our child riders and competing in his first competitive ride, was second in the 80km ride in a time of 4h40' . In the young riders division Hancko Maritz was third with a time of 4h29. His horse Qatar was awarded best condition. In the 121 km standard weight division we had 4 riders competing. Paul Mathibela, on Eleanora Fantisa, came in first and Neo Tswaledi Magopane,on Renegade, came in second. Both in 7h07' the difference only a few seconds. Renegade was awarded best conditioned horse. Unfortunately the other two horses were eliminated. Karibuni Fire Dancer, ridden by Mahlatse Malebana eliminated after completing 108 km because of a motion in the left hind rump/leg. Brumby, ridden by Bro. Douglas Robertson, was eliminated at the final vet check after 121 km also due to a motion in his rump.
