*OSINDISWENI COMMUTERS ROBBED AT GUNPOINT BY HIJACKERS POSING AS PASSENGERS; VEHICLE RECOVERED NOODESBERG*

At approximately 20:09, SBA PROTECT members were alerted to a CMC taxi that was hijacked along with the passengers being taken as hostages.

The members sprang into action, quickly immobilizing all available units and initiating a tracking mission.

The taxi was traced from Osindisweni to Ndwedwe and eventually onto the R614.

The vehicle was eventually found on the R614, but none of the passengers were present. It was later discovered that the hostages and the driver had been released near Osindisweni Hospital unharmed.

The driver recounted that three armed suspects had posed as passengers and then proceeded to rob both him and the passengers at gunpoint.

Despite the recovery of the vehicle in Noodesberg on the R614, the driver declined to press charges.
