SRR Engineers

I have a question for those who specialize in hydrogeology or such.
Stormwater soakpits rely on the presence of permeable soil underground to absorb and dissipate water via percolation... After severe and prolonged flooding, the softer soils get washed/ eroded away through subterranean movement of water leaving little to no softer material to aid the absorption.

Has anyone investigated this matter since soakpits are no longer functional?

Please note the job spec for a Junior Structural/ Civil Engineer is as follows (if you do not have the following please do not respond as your submission will not be considered):

- 2-3 years post-grad experience (B-tech or B. Eng. Tech or similar)
- Own vehicle
- Prepare sewer reports with layouts and details
- Prepare stormwater management plans and reports with layouts and details
- Carry out designs on reinforced concrete and structural steel members for houses, multi-storey residential and commercial buildings
- Prepare reinforced concrete layouts, structural steel layouts, and reinforcing details and schedules
- Software competencies/ proficiency: AutoCAD, Prokon (including drafting using PADDS), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel),
- Carry out structural assessments and prepare reports
- Undertake site inspections prior to concrete pours
- Meeting new and existing clients
- General office duties (admin, filing, printing, etc)
- Expanding the client base by ensuring smooth interaction and prompt delivery of services
- Must be a team-player and be willing to learn and grow within the team but also be able to work independently

The position is based in Verulam.
