Custom Restorations

In between the normal daily services, repairs and diagnostics on BMWs we also rebuild engines as needed.

BMW F15 X5 5.0 N63 engine recently came in with a bad misfire. Normal diagnostics and fault finding narrowed it to Cyl 4. A compression test , wet and dry revealed no compression. Using our boroscope we discovered bad scoring on the bore and damage to the piston.
Further strip down to block and a broken piston was found. Client was offered the option of replacing damaged piston only, upgrading all piston to Forged pistons or replacment engine.
Client opted for piston replacment with new sleeve, this entailed strip down to bare block for engineering to do their work and then us to re-assemble the entire engine. This work requires the engine, gearbox to be assembled onto the completely removed suspension and subframe and then re-fitting the whole unit back onto the body.

E38s.. you either love them or hate them.
We redone this E38 740i to our clients brief.
Colour change from silver to Black Sapphire Metallic. , imported 18" Wide and narrow Alpina wheels shod with Bridgstone rubber.
Custom exhaust with tips through the bumpers. BRC fully adjustable lowering kit dropped it 60mm, imported from the USA.
All amber to white light changes with OEM parts. Original Alpina lip.
Black tint smash and grab although dont think anyones coming through the double glaze glass.
The interior received a full Custom Rockford sound system. Minor leather repairs and clean.
All the wood was out and replaced with piano black.
A major service and detailed mechanical check.
