This week we welcomed Andries Klop to the Root team as our newest Software Engineer!

For Andries, learning is a perpetual source of joy, because “there’s just something so fulfilling about knowing more and being stronger than I was yesterday”. He’s excited to help us achieve the big milestones we have coming up for our team and platform - and he just can’t wait for the chance to pop open the piñata when we reach them.🥳 🎉

We’re excited to share more about the fruitful partnership we’ve been building with Price Money! 🙌

It started with a POC of a new insurance product built and launched on Root in less than 3 weeks. The POC demonstrated that Root was the technology partner that Mr Price was looking for. “It solved all our compliance and reporting needs, the innovation functionality was there, and speed to market was clearly proven. We wanted Root,” says Vincent Holtzhausen.

This led Mr Price to migrate their insurance book onto Root - a total of 3 million policies, with over a third of these policies active during the migration.

Since then, Mr Price built and launched a new, in-store tablet app for selling device cover to a brand new market. It will soon be rolled out to 250 stores across South Africa!
