Position: Digital Print Supervisor / Operator

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the daily operations of the digital print department, managing a team of operators and ensuring efficient workflow.
Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of digital printing equipment (large-format, UV printers, etc.).
Ensure all print jobs meet quality standards by monitoring output, colour accuracy, and material handling.
Coordinate with the production and design teams to ensure that all print materials are produced on time and to client specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with digital print machines and materials.
Develop and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Track and maintain inventory of printing supplies, including inks, papers, and other consumables.
Ensure all safety guidelines and operational procedures are followed in the print area.
Train, mentor, and motivate print operators to ensure the team is well-equipped to meet production demands.
Prepare reports on production efficiency, print quality, and team performance for upper management.
Ensure that print department objectives align with company goals and customer expectations.
Operate and maintain digital printing machines (such as large-format printers and UV printers) to produce high-quality POS displays, banners, signage, and promotional materials.
Prepare digital files for printing by ensuring they are correctly formatted and optimized for production.
Load, align, and calibrate printing equipment for optimal results.
Monitor print jobs to ensure quality control, ensuring that colour, resolution, and alignment meet client specifications.
Conduct routine maintenance on printing equipment to ensure proper functionality and minimal downtime.
Ensure that printed materials are correctly cut, trimmed, and prepared for packaging or installation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols at all times.
Assist with inventory management of printing materials, inks, and substrates.
Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality print products.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Digital Print Supervisor /Operator, ideally with large-format printing experience.
Familiarity with digital printing technologies and different types of media.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera).
Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot and correct errors quickly.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Knowledge of colour calibration, resolution settings, and media compatibility.
Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong technical knowledge of digital printing technologies, including large-format and UV printing.
Previous leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
