Khune: Chiefs players perform well in training, but not in matches

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says the squad is struggling to translate training ground performances on matchdays. As he also set his on Bafana return.

"Whatever we do in training we must take it into our games because at training we do score beautiful goals, we do make beautiful saves, everyone is doing everything he can in his respective position," he said.

"But during matches, I don't know what tends to get into our heads because I think we don't give what we always give here in training. That's something we need to work on and improve."

"It's affecting me badly because I think every player has his role and his responsibility to play in making sure that the club goes back to the glory days," said Khune.

"We need to realise that we are at Kaizer Chiefs and start performing like a Kaizer Chiefs player because the fans demand results, demand consistency so it's something we need to realise and improve on as individuals."

"I want to compete for the number one spot here at Chiefs and hopefully get the call back to Bafana," a defiant Khune concluded.
