I don’t know what this technique is called, but I LOVE it 💕 The best part - it makes such an easy nail art set!
Layering Steps:
1. Black gel polish
2. Silver cat eye gel polish
3. Magnetize the design however you like
4. Sheer jelly gel polish colour your choice
5. Gloss (or matte) top coat!
The result? A much more concentrated, vibrant cat eye effect with incredible depth and dimension instead of a sparse, washed-out shimmer.

I've worked with quite a few cat eye gels over the years, and this NCE is one of those products that genuinely stands out. ✨
For this set, I layered NCE's 'Silver Spoon' Cat Eye over black gel polish and finished it with a sheer blue, creating this deep, ocean-inspired effect. 🌊
What makes this cat eye different for me is the control. When I position the magnetic particles exactly where I want them, they actually stay there. With many other brands I've used, the particles tend to disperse, shift, or simply don't respond as predictably to the magnet.
The result? A much more concentrated, vibrant cat eye effect with incredible depth and dimension instead of a sparse, washed-out shimmer.
If you've ever worked with cat eye gels, you'll know that manipulating the magnet takes practice. The angle, distance, and movement all matter. What I appreciate most about NCE's formula is that the particles move with intention—they follow the magnet exactly as expected, making it far easier to create the look you're envisioning.
For me, that's what separates a good cat eye gel from a great one.
