For this summer house renovation, we decide the stoep needed to work harder! Previously, a shallow vine covered pergola - scroll through to see “before” - and while beautiful to look at, it was, critically, not deep enough to hold furniture ‘in the round’ - it served the purpose of softening the front facade, but didn’t live up to its potential… instead, we deepened the stoep, changed the door & window openings facing onto it, added a deep day bed - and extended the living space out into the garden - adding a full dining and seating area!
