GRADE 9 BOY FROM DAVEYTON PASSES AWAY AFTER DRINKING SPRITE MIXED WITH STILPANE SYRUP & ANTIDEPRESSANT

A Grade 9 boy from Daveyton area has passed away after drinking Sprite mixed with Stilpane Syrup including Antidepressant pills.

According to the reports, it is understood that young boys in the area had been drinking the mixture on a daily basis.It is alleged that they were drinking these cough syrups mixed with Kingsley drinks as they are cheap.According to the parents of the deceased they say 'we are now worried that our kids will die because of substance abuse.

Crime prevention operations conducted in the Eldorado Park area by the members of SAPS including the Gauteng Traffic Wardens resulted in an apprehension of four suspects for various offenses.

These arrests were made for the following crimes:
1). possession of an instrument resembling a firearm and resisting arrest,
2).possession of drugs and resisting arrest, 3).possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition,
4).as well as possession of an instrument resembling a firearm.
