💜 [STATEMENT OF SUPPORT] As a movement of over 1,000 early childhood development practitioners — the vast majority of whom are women — Real Reform for ECD stands with all those participating in the G20 Women’s Shutdown today.

We know all too well the staggering toll that Gender-Based Violence and Femicide exacts on women — and on children and communities.

We know all too well that, without women, South Africa stops — even as the vital care-work women perform is routinely overlooked and marginalised.

We join the call for Gender-Based Violence and Femicide to be declared a National Disaster.

And we join the call for the full implementation and proper funding of the National Strategic Plan on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.
