A solid waste management strategy for informal settlement has been developed in partnership with CoT waste department, C40, Madam Waste and Asivikelane.

The purpose of the waste management strategy is to instil a culture of waste management in informal settlements by making use of sorting at source, recycling, composting and rehabilitation of dumpsites into community parks and community gardens by the comminity. This will assist in ensuring that residents adopt a culture of keeping their community clean at all times while making a living for their families.
