One of the risks in trucking nowadays are brokers and companies who won't pay you after loading them. Some dissappear(fly by night companies), some will pay you only half down at loading and also disappear or drag payments. There is a new case of companies who load you, and instead of paying you, their lawyer contacts you asking to pay you monthly for a year or even longer.in these cases if you refuse monthly settlement , the company will even threaten to liquidate. It's a legal loophole that some conman use to finance their trucks with your money.
It's all scams that you have to avoid.instead research on these companies before loading, if you do load them.. LThen never let the figures balloon before being paid.spread your risk between brokers unless it's a guaranteed contract.Always look at red signals(delayed payments, complaints from former clients) etc.if you have a decent fleet. Then register as a vendor at a biggest companies around who won't afford to not pay you. And best always hunt for contracts and building your network with brokers and truckers..
