Tips for bonding rabbits:
1.Neutral Territory: Start in a neutral space where neither rabbit has established territory. This helps reduce territorial aggression.
2. Slow Introduction: Gradually introduce the rabbits to each other. You can allow them to sniff each other through a barrier like a cage or a pen.
3.Short Sessions: Keep initial meetings short (10-15 minutes) and gradually increase the time as they become more comfortable with each other.
4.Supervised Interactions: Always supervise their interactions to ensure safety. Look for signs of aggression or stress.
5.Positive Reinforcement: Reward both rabbits with treats and praise when they interact positively. This helps them associate each other with good experiences.
6.Shared Space: Once they seem comfortable, allow them to share a larger space. Make sure it’s free of hiding spots where one might feel cornered.
7.Time and Patience: Bonding can take time, sometimes weeks or even months. Be patient and don’t rush the process.
8.Observe Behavior: Watch for grooming behaviors, which indicate acceptance and affection. If aggression occurs, separate them and try again later.
