Testimony themed "ukhona u Jesu angayisindisa impilo yakho"
I was born at Orlando East in Soweto. I grew up in a family that was battling financially and I was raised by my grandmother because both of my parents were heavy alcohol drinkers. Growing up in Soweto exposed me to many sinful and wrong things so as a young person I fell into those temptations and led a very sinful life. The more I grew it was the more I engaged into sinful life.
The drastic change in my life all started in 1997 around November when I was doing my last year at the college. I used to go to clubbing and one night suddenly I heard a voice saying to me "you don't belong here" and the power of this voice made me to feel that I really didn't belong there, and from that day forward I stopped clubbing. This voice kept on talking to me in many wrong things that I was doing like stopping to go to my grandfather's grave to ask for luck, I stopped dating because this voice told me that I was defiling my body. One day this voice told me to cut off my dreadlocks. All this time I didn't know that it was the Holy Spirit talking to me until I was born again and got saved.
In February 1998 I was invited by my neighbor to a revival and because she was pestering me about it so I said to myself let me just go to please her so that she would leave me alone. The pastor on that one particular night when I had attended the revival just to please my neighbor preached on 2Kings 7: 3. His message was "Why are you sitting in your sinful life until you die". When he kept on saying "Uhleleleni lapho uze ufe na?, ukhona u Jesu angayisindisa impilo yakho", I looked at my life and told myself that I don't want to die being a sinner I need Jesus to save me and I stood up and gave my life to Christ.
My life was never the same again because it had changed completely. My family was so against my salvation but I endured because accepting Jesus was the best decision I had ever made. On the 21 August 1999 I was baptized with the Holy Spirit and from that day on I saw myself growing spiritually and being empowered with my walk with Christ. As a young person I faced challenges that most born again young people face like being attracted to a certain lady, or at times feeling that you are not saved enough but through it all I saw the grace of God sustaining me.
Now at nights I would have visions of myself preaching and in those visions there would be a voice saying "Uwumfundisi"(your a pastor). These visions continued for a long time and every Thursday's God would show me a place to do Open Airs and in those open airs people got saved. One night the Holy Spirit spoke to me with an audible voice that He has called me to preach and assigned me to The Great Commission. I accepted that calling and I started to be in a evangelism team of the pastor I got saved from. I started to be in an intercession group, then I became the MC of that revival team. I dedicated my life into prayer and fasting and reading the Word of God. In the years that I was with the team I then saw God opening the doors to preach and I spent 7 years with this team. I always thank God for this team because that's where God groomed and pruned me for the life of being the minister of His Word.
My testimony is that God doesn't look at ones age to be His vessel. My prayer and desire is to serve the purpose of God in my generation.
