Pink Lemonade

had decided to drive into town in her '85 VW Jetta and took me with for the ride. She chose Rankakata road and lo and behold as she embarked on the climb our poor Jetta, struggling up the hill, began slowing down. Papharphar (out of nowhere) my mom says I got up from the passenger seat (baby car seats were not a thing then... te he he) and started cheering the car along so it could make it up this monstrous hill. "Iteke Jetta, iteke"... loosely translated... "Keep going Jetta, keep going"
Hearing this made me laugh so hard but at the same time got me a bit emotional. In that moment I understood that what makes children such amazing creatures that we can't help but adore is their innate ability to see beauty in all that surrounds them and fully embrace it. In that moment I was so grateful that my mother gifted me a moment about my soul's truest self that at that early age I knew how to harness happiness so genuine I wanted to share it with a car.
