Ms Pemla Ditsele from Unisa Africa’s of African Languages presented on “Batswana Ancestral Rituals in the Fifth Industrial Revolution (5IR) Era” at the South African Society of Archivists - SASA Conference 2026.
Her presentation explored the intersection between African cultural heritage, ancestral knowledge, and emerging technologies, highlighting the importance of preserving indigenous practices and languages in a rapidly changing digital future.

Today, Prof Isabel Schellnack-Kelly from the Unisa - Information Science presented "AI for Smarter Records: Classification Systems in Community Engagement Organisations" at the South African Society of Archivists - SASA Sou Conference 2026.
The presentation explored how artificial intelligence can enhance records classification, improve information management, and strengthen community engagement organisations through smarter, more efficient, and sustainable recordkeeping practices.
