When Marizanne Kemp Ferreira and Ellie-Mae a rescued pitbull puppy, began training with us the journey was not an easy one.

Allowing a young dog the freedom to develop, to think, and to make her own good choi es requires trust, patience, and courage.

All credit goes to Marizanne for staying committed, especially on the difficult days, and for learning to step back when patience was tested.

Today Marizanne has a 12 month old rescued pit bull who clearly understands how to approach different animals and humans according to their age, need, and vulnerability.

We saw the beginnings of this awareness in Ellie-Mae as early as 4 months old, and after this week's training sessions there is no doubt anymore.

For the non-believers: Ellie-Mae is not afraid of crutches. She reads the situation adjusts her behavior and responds accordingly.

This was done without any harmful actions like a prong or shock collar.
