When Women Remember Who They Are
After writing my last article, When Authenticity Challenges Our Conditioning, something beautiful happened.
I connected with a fellow soul sister based in New York, Evelyn Castillo, who had been resonating deeply with my content and who also works within similar healing and soul-centered modalities. What started as a simple online connection turned into over two hours of heartfelt conversation, wisdom-sharing, encouragement, and reflection.
And honestly, the timing could not have been more aligned.
One of the biggest insights Evelyn shared with me was this:
The local market I am in still needs education around what Reiki actually is.
Not fear.
Not misconception.
Not spiritual performance.
Simply understanding.
Because Reiki is not about religion.
It is about life force energy, nervous system regulation, relaxation, emotional support, self-awareness, and creating space for healing within the body, mind, heart, and soul.
It is one of the modalities I use within my Authentic Soul Reset™ process to help women reconnect with themselves and begin spiraling upward again emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically.
And after reflecting on the resistance I experienced during my previous encounter, I realized something important:
Sometimes people are not rejecting healing itself.
They are rejecting what they do not yet understand.
That conversation inspired me to reposition my local offering and officially birth what is now becoming the Authentic Soul - Soul Sister Supper Club.
And the response?
Immediate.
The very next Saturday, four women booked their seats.
Our first official gathering began under the rare Sagittarius Blue Moon — and honestly, I could not have planned a more aligned beginning if I tried.
We started the evening with a guided meditation and nervous system reset as the sun slowly began setting around us. For twenty minutes, the room softened.
You could feel it.
Women arrived carrying stress, exhaustion, confusion, overthinking, emotional heaviness, and life pressure.
And slowly…
They began returning to themselves.
After meditation, we shared nourishing organic food together — fresh vegetables, mung beans wrapped in delicate rice paper with an umami dipping sauce, a beautiful caprese salad, and a delicious homemade orzo pasta prepared with love. To finish the evening, my friend treated us all to homemade ice cream that everyone agreed was absolutely unforgettable.
Then I guided the ladies through my Authentic Soul Reset™ workshop and reflections workbook.
Using the Authentic Soul reflections process, we explored questions around body, heart, mind, and soul.
Questions such as:
What has my body been trying to tell me?
Where do I feel most authentic?
What am I ready to release?
If I fully trusted myself, what would I do differently?
And this is where the evening became powerful.
The women went deep.
Far deeper than I expected for a first gathering.
Questions emerged around purpose, exhaustion, identity, self-worth, sovereignty, relationships, career alignment, motherhood, stress, healing, and the quiet knowing that many of us are no longer able to abandon ourselves just to survive.
As the conversations unfolded, something became incredibly clear:
Women are starving for safe spaces.
Not spaces where they need to perform.
Not spaces where they need to compete.
Not spaces where they need to pretend they are coping.
But spaces where they can finally exhale.
One woman realized she could no longer suppress her gifts and that a career shift was calling her forward.
Another, a single mother, opened conversations around feminine strength, wellness, vitality, and the emotional responsibility of raising a daughter while still learning to care for herself.
And then there was my best friend.
Someone I reunited with earlier this year after knowing her since we were four years old in playschool.
The universe has clearly been speaking loudly to her lately.
She had endured weeks of emotional exhaustion — religious holidays, family conflict, relentless work pressure, heavy rains in Port Elizabeth, and repeated car damage caused by potholes.
Then something unusual happened.
On Sunday 22 May at exactly 13h45, two tyres on the right-hand side of her car were damaged and needed replacing.
One week later, after our hike and the lunch encounter I wrote about previously, she damaged two tyres again.
Exactly 13h45.
This time on the left-hand side.
The synchronicity stopped both of us in our tracks.
We looked into the symbolism together.
A flat tyre can represent feeling stuck, emotionally exhausted, unable to move forward, overwhelmed by life's demands, or needing rest and recalibration.
The right side traditionally represents masculine energy — action, structure, achievement, and external pressure.
The left side represents feminine energy — intuition, receiving, emotional truth, and inner wisdom.
The universe seemed to be speaking loudly.
But would she listen?
Days later, after another emotionally heated situation, she injured her baby toe during an argument. After encouraging her repeatedly to see a doctor, we discovered it was broken.
And finally, something shifted.
That night, she packed some belongings, took her daughter, and came to stay with me.
And truthfully?
Watching her reclaim her power has been one of the most beautiful things I have witnessed.
Because my workshops are not about "fixing" women.
They are about helping women remember themselves.
During the supper club and workshop reflections, I actually judged her internally for being so exhausted that she fell asleep during parts of the session. I thought perhaps she was disengaged or not taking the process seriously.
But life humbled me very quickly.
Because within days, she began implementing profound changes in her life.
She listened.
Even while exhausted.
Even while overwhelmed.
Even while emotionally depleted.
And now, for the first time in her life, she is standing up for herself, breaking generational patterns, protecting her daughter's future, and choosing sovereignty over survival.
That takes extraordinary courage.
I could not be prouder of her.
And strangely enough, this experience has healed something in me too.
I have always wanted children.
So having my friend and her daughter in my home this past week has unexpectedly nourished my own soul in ways I did not anticipate.
Life has a funny way of unfolding.
We make plans.
We think we know what healing should look like.
And then God, the universe, life force — whatever name resonates for you — gently rearranges everything.
Sometimes the very thing we thought we were creating for others becomes healing for ourselves too.
And while the conversations were deep, the evening was also filled with simple moments of joy.
Needless to say, supper was a hit.
What touched me most was hearing the feedback from the ladies afterward.
One beautiful soul shared:
"I absolutely loved the Authentic Soul gathering yesterday, it was a real treat! Delicious food (my poor husband has been hearing about those fresh spring rolls all day, hehe!). And of course, the homemade ice cream was out of this world! It was really beautiful to listen to everyone and to be heard, to hold space for each other. Massive appreciation."
Another added:
"It really was a special afternoon and evening. It was great connecting with you guys. I agree, the food and ice cream were beautiful."
Reading those messages confirmed something I had already felt in my heart.
Women are craving authentic connection.
Not social media connection.
Not networking.
Not surface-level conversation.
Real connection.
The kind where you can arrive exactly as you are.
The kind where you can laugh, cry, reflect, share, listen, heal, and simply be human.
And perhaps that is what made our first Soul Sister Supper Club so special.
Not the food.
Not the meditation.
Not the workbook.
The women.
The willingness to show up authentically.
The willingness to listen.
The willingness to remember.
This is why I know Authentic Soul is aligned with my purpose.
Because I was completely in my element.
Holding space.
Guiding women.
Helping people process emotions they struggle to articulate.
Watching nervous systems soften.
Watching masks fall away.
Watching women begin remembering who they truly are underneath the pressure, conditioning, exhaustion, and performance.
And perhaps that is what this work is truly about.
Not perfection.
Not spiritual superiority.
Not performance.
But remembrance.
Remembering your voice.
Remembering your worth.
Remembering your intuition.
Remembering your softness.
Remembering your power.
Remembering your soul.
