• Training Introductory Flights: Take to the skies with a thrilling introductory flight! Guided by experienced instructors, you'll get a taste of what it's like to fly.
• Simulator Experience: Ever dreamt of flying a plane? Step into our state-of-the-art flight simulator and immerse yourself in the excitement of flying without leaving the ground.
• Learn About Pilot Training: Curious about becoming a pilot? Knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about pilot training.
• Meet Experienced Instructors and the teams from Air Traffic Control and SA Weather: Get to know our team of experienced staff at the Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport (FAPE).
• Learn from the best and gain valuable insights into the world of aviation.
• Photo Opportunities: Capture unforgettable moments against the backdrop of our aircraft and facilities. Share your experience with friends and family as you embark on your aviation journey.
• Static displays with various aircraft, helicopters, and cars on show. Don't miss this chance to ignite your passion for aviation and take the first step towards your dreams! Whether you're considering a career in aviation or simply love all things aircraft-related, our Open Day promises excitement, inspiration, and endless possibilities. SAAF Museum will be selling food and hot drinks, while the Gremlin’s Grotto Fully Licenced Bar will be selling ice cold drinks and snacks. East Coast Aviation will be open all day to refuel aircraft. If you are planning to fly in with your aircraft on the day - please contact Sharon via email - [email protected] - so that she can sort out the landing fees for the day. Will need Aircraft Type and Registration. As everyone is aware, we are not able to host an airshow currently, but this is the next best thing. The FAPE Open Day is aimed at providing more information and insight to the youth and the public about the on goings at FAPE, including the various flight schools, clubs and businesses that are all involved one way or another with aviation. We invite the youth and public from all over the metropole to attend (no charge).
