***Success report! Highflats Case.

These e-hailing services cars were used by drivers to commit a business robbery in Highflats, one driver was arrested after a high speed chase and shootout with the police and private security, while the second car was abandoned and the driver and other occupants fled on foot.
Cars were impounded and we were approached by the owners to assist with getting their cars back after they had tried with no luck to get their cars back.

We managed to get the cars back after an intense, but civil and professional engagement with SAPS Highflats management and the prosecutors (NPA) from Ixopo.

*Success Report*!
Vehicle unlawfully impounded by the police at Durban Central.

Uber/Bolt driver was arrested in March 2023 along with his client on a charge of Possession of Suspected Stolen Property, the vehicle was then seized and impounded pending the outcome of the case.

The arrested driver is not the owner of the vehicle, so the owner approached the police to plead his innocence as he stays in Joburg and was not aware what the driver gets up to with his vehicle. He asked for the vehicle to be released, but was told that since it was used in a commission of a crime it has to be impounded pending the outcome of the trial.

April 28th I we were contacted by the owner asking for assistance getting his vehicle back. We approached the police about the matter, it turned out the police had no authority to keep the vehicle, they misinterpreted the section and the Act that they relied on to impound the vehicle.

Unfortunately it took us three weeks to eventually get the vehicle released this morning (Monday 22 May 2023) as the police wanted to keep the vehicle even in the absence of any law authorising them to impound the vehicle. They instead tried to bully us into letting go, but we eventually got the vehicle back this morning.

If your vehicle was impounded under similar circumstances, please contact us , we could assist you depending on the merits of your case. Consultation is free!

Property Sale Scam! Success Report!

Client paid 70% deposit for rental cottages in August 2021 with the agreement that the balance will be paid when title deed is changed to her name. Transfer process was initiated and it was discovered that the property was actually built on two plots, but the seller only had one title deed. When approached by the conveyancers, the seller told them he bought the property as is and did not know it was on two plots- he further stated that he had lost contact with a person from whom he bought the property.

I was initially contacted in April 2022 by the buyer to trace the previous owners as the seller wasn’t helping the transfer process and was ignoring lawyers letters, he had also changed his contact numbers. I started working on the case and was shocked to learn that the previous owners actually lived two blocks away from the property, the seller actually lied that he could not find them.

With the help of the previous owners, a new transfer application was made and the property was eventually transferred successfully to my client. The seller had also ignored lawyers letters informing him to stop collecting rent from November 2021, he continued collecting rent for further 15 months until end of February 2023.
I was also asked to work on recovering rent money through having the seller forfeit the amount he had collected through rent from the balance.

When I finally met the seller, he told me he no longer wanted to sell his property and wanted to pay back my client’s deposit. Unfortunately for him, I had already learned that that is how he operates- he “sells” properties and frustrate the process so that the buyer ask for their money back, only for him to take months to pay it back as he would’ve invested the deposits in buying other properties he rents to students.

We managed to help our client get back R100 000 and her property. Good guys won!
