🚀 Save the Date: Space Educators Conference 2026
We’re excited to announce that Parklands College Secondary Faculty will be hosting a Space Educators Conference during World Space Week, from 8–10 October.
In collaboration with Space, Sakhikamva, Trinity Preparatory School of Florida, and Living Maths, this inspiring three-day event will bring together educators passionate about innovation, space, and future-focused learning.
Led by Richard Knaggs, Lee-ann Steynberg, and Don Duffield, this conference promises to ignite curiosity and expand horizons in STEM education.

The Cape Town Science Centre and Living Maths are celebrating BIG birthdays this year, we’re 25 and they’re 30!! 🎉🎂 Join us on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟮𝟵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 for a Birthday Bash to remember! 🥳

From 09:00 - 16:30, you can enjoy a full day’s programme with FREE ENTRY and access to all exhibits, hands-on workshops, shows, tours, demos and panel discussions!

HIGHLIGHTS:

The launch of three NEW exciting spaces within the CTSC:
- ECD area with fun activities for the little ones
- Innovation Studio powered by Sasol
- Wizards Board Games - The Chris Legg Collection

Activities:

This Big Birthday Bash Open Day, celebrating 25 years of the Cape Town Science Centre and the vital role of science centres in public education, is brought to you by MTN South Africa, the company that provided the start-up funding for a science centre in Cape Town back in December 1998. Our story began then, and the MTN Sciencentre officially opened its doors in November 2000, at Canal Walk Shopping Centre.

Living Maths Space Tour 2025 is officially over. The Incredible NASA Astronaut, Commander Susan Kilrain impressed the Western Cape and parts of the Eastern Cape with her incredible story, message and ability to connect with students and the community. We ended in Mossel Bay today and what a wonderful last event. Thanks to Commander Kilrain, her wonderful husband, Colin, the beautiful towns of Plett, Knysna, George, Humansdorp, Port Alfred Mossel Bay and of course Cape Town for the warm reception and enthusiasm that you showered on us. Mossel Bay Tourism, Plett Tourism, Sakhikamva Foundation, Fatima Jakoet thank you for your valuable partnership for this tour. Thanks to my loving family who either missed me or were delighted I was away for 1 weeks. I'll find out when I am finally back home. Looking forward to an awesome space tour for 2026.
