- The 2016 social good trends are vast in their scope, with the power of photography never failing to raise awareness and brands giving consumers platforms to help the environment themselves.
Photography has long been a medium that exposed the many horrific conditions that people around the world have to endure, and the photographer Johnny Miller captured some of the most revealing and poignant imagery of this year. Miller took drone photos of some of South Africa's landscapes, revealing the stark divide between the wealthy and the poor in the country – which is a divide that exists in racial terms as well. With nothing but a series of photos, the photographer was able to capture what political commentators, South African civilians and theorists all conclude – that despite the technical end of apartheid, inequality in the country remains extremely and depressingly high.
