READ THIS AND YOU’LL LEARN SOMETHING.
There’s an old saying: “If you realize you’re riding a dead horse, the best thing to do is get off.”
But in many organizations, instead of getting off the horse, people often:
• Use a stronger whip to try to make the horse move.
• Form a team to study the horse.
• Send employees to training on how to ride dead horses.
• Rename the horse to make it sound better, like calling it “energy-challenged.”
• Promote the dead horse to a higher position, hoping it inspires others.
The Lesson:
When something isn’t working anymore, whether it’s a plan, project, or strategy you need to stop wasting time and energy on it. Let it go and focus on something that works.
What Leaders Can Do:
1. Check what’s working and what’s not. Be honest about it.
2. Make decisions quickly. If it’s not working, don’t be afraid to move on.
3. Be open to new ideas. Create a culture where people feel safe trying new things.
Sometimes, success isn’t about working harder , it’s about knowing when to let go of strategy , process or any old way of doing business

The Inspiring Story of DHL ibsinstitute.org
In 1969, three young men decided to start their delivery business with the few resources they had:
1. Adrian Dalsey
2. Larry Hillblom
3. Robert Lynn
Their initials formed DHL, a company that would revolutionize the industry.
Fifty-five years later, DHL owns:
• 250 planes
• 32,000 vehicles
• 550,000 employees
Today, DHL is present almost everywhere in the world. Revenues are estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars.
In life, surround yourself with people who talk about projects, business, success, dreams, and goals—not negative, fearful, or lazy people.
If your friend refuses to join you in starting a business, they are not a friend.
If your brother refuses to support you in progressing your business, he is not a brother.
If you get into business, hold on strong—it took 55 years for DHL to become what it is today. Success takes time, effort, intelligence, and focus.
Be inspired to do more today.
