Recruitment
• Manage the performance of the recruitment function based on HR strategies, plans and service level agreements.
• Compile recruitment strategy for the new financial year (how to attract the right people, headhunting, etc.)
• Maintain an up-to-date and accurate recruitment plan in order to be able to prioritize staffing needs.
• Ensure alignment of recruitment plan with EE targets
Employment Equity
• Develop, implement, evaluate and improve EE plan for the region\company
• Chairing of EE Committee meetings
• Ensure that numerical goals are met as per BBBEE targets
• Monitor the implementation of the EE plan and ensure compliance with the EE Act
Skills Development
• Identify the training needs for the regions\company
• Develop, implement, evaluate & improve WSP for the regions\company
• Ensure that the WSP is aligned to the regional\company objectives
• Facilitate career management & succession plan
• Conduct in house training/coaching / mentoring
• Submission of workplace skills plan WSP; Annual Training report
• Identify leadership, technical and functional training requirements in conjunction with line managers for input into the workplace skills plan
• Ensure induction training takes place for the newly appointed staff
HR Administration
• Conduct climate and cultural surveys
• Conduct HR audits
• Implement and maintain an effective admin system
• Ensure employee files & records are up to date at all times
• Ensure all types of leave is recorded & updated monthly
Industrial Relations
• Ensure disciplinary code is implemented fairly
• Handle potential IR queries/problems before it causes dissent
• Ensure an effective IR climate prevails with fair practices in the regions
• Provide Line Management with effective and latest IR advice.
• Represent the company at CCMA & Labour Court when required
• Facilitate management\shop stewards meetings in the regions\company
• Responsible for handling and resolving staff grievances (salary and wages)
• Implementation of the industrial action plan
Reporting
• Risk reporting
• Special project and statutory
Employee Wellness
• Promote and encourage the use of various employee wellness initiatives
• Arrange Employee Wellness events (i.e. HIV/AIDS awareness days)

More recognition from Sasol to Pieter Jacobs and his team at Co-Monomers for the huge effort that went into the safe and fast dismantling of a 60m high scaffold through pipes and bends in this cold weather. This scaffold was erected in 7 days and safely dismantled in one shift on the 19th August 2017. Well done
