es were in the Burial Hall. In April 1954 the Elsbury Primary School was officially opened by the Administrator of the Cape and since then we have never looked back. The teachers spared neither time nor labor to their devotion of duty, hence we were second to none in the fields of Education, Athletics and other Mural Activities. The department looked at the learner total in 1960 and decided to put a prefab building that contains about eight classes. Since then the school just grew and grew not only in education but also in other mural activities. With the schools 60th anniversary in 2008, the school establishment consisted of 14 educators and had an enrollment of 450 learners. Jantjies, which was appointed in January 2011. Our enrolment for 2011 is 447 learners. We are blessed with a staff compliment of 11 educators, a principal, a deputy principal, 2 janitors and a administrator. The major challenge the school is facing and has been facing for the past few years is to accommodate for the number of enrollments every year.
