Last Friday, we had the privilege of hosting our Annual Tenure Awards, celebrating two remarkable individuals, Rechique Sukdeo and Portia Malinga, who have each dedicated 10 years of their working life to Chillisoft. Many thanks to you both for your contribution!

Rechique and Portia have each grown immensely, personally and professionally, over the past decade, in their own ways. They both embody the values and heart of the company, consistently demonstrating integrity and kindness in everything they do, and always giving of their best for their teams and for our customers.

Rechique wasn't able to join in person at our office in Durban, as he is part of our team based in Oman, but he managed to deliver a heartfelt speech over a video call. The whole of Chillisoft was present to give him and Portia the recognition they both deserve for their contributions - thank you!

At Chillisoft, we’re grateful that good proportion of our people choose to stay with the company for many years and see it as a place that helps them to grow and meet their career goals over the long term. Our average employee retention rate is over six years, and for the past several years, it's been a privilege each year to have been able to celebrate Chillisofters reaching their 10-year milestones with the company.

Last Friday, Chillisofters came together to celebrate and commemorate our South African Heritage, an annual tradition that always brings connection and laughter.

Storytelling took centre stage once again, with team members picking questions from a bowl that sparked conversations about our country’s rich diversity and culture. Some answers were instantly relatable, others thought-provoking, but all reflected the unique spirit of South Africa.

From traditional tales to childhood memories and plenty of banter in between, some things stood out: many Chillisofters are proud Bok supporters, how the word “eish” is unique to our people, and above all, we are all proud of our diverse South African heritage.

A special thanks to all those involved in making this a meaningful event for all of us.

Last Friday all the Chillisofters based in South Africa came together for our annual Values Alignment Workshop, one of the most anticipated events in our company's calendar and a key element in culture forming at the company.

Each year we explore a central theme that helps guide our mindset and direction for the months ahead. This year’s focus: Sustainability and Longevity. The team showed up as they always do, exchanging ideas, sharing perspectives, and engaging in meaningful dialogue about what it means to grow with purpose and endurance.

We kicked off by reflecting on the past year and celebrating some of the milestones achieved. It's been a year of much change, but a piece of data that stood out among that change was that we continue to maintain a 0% retrenchment rate since inception: a powerful testament to Chillisoft's commitment to its people and to sustainability, even through uncertainty.

One key takeaway? Sustainable growth isn’t just about strategy, it’s about people, shared values, and long-term thinking - and ensuring that everyone understands how their role fits into and contributes to the whole.

And of course, no Chillisoft event is complete without great coffee and delicious food to keep the energy flowing. Here's to another year of learning, growing, and building something that lasts.
