Let me tell you about Graphic Designers *SPECIFICALLY LOGO DESIGNERS* coz that's what I do.

Designing a Logo:
A logo has to look simple, but making it look simple is one tough job coz it has to be simple yet unique, appropriate and still reflect your brand cores. On top of that, it has to look young even after decades.
It's more than just opening a software and designing, we go through stages, from the preliminary brief, to research (brand itself, industry and competition) then you have to summarise all that data and convert it to a symbol/mark. Not just that, after breaking it down to the client, they have to approve it otherwise it's another job.

Note for Designers: If 1 out of 10 clients can pay what you charge and are satisfied, then that 1 client will refer even more who are just like them - Clients who are willing to pay much to get a logo of your quality, clients who acknowledge your hardwork and know that it doesn't come cheap!

About high prices:
It's a bad price/ too expensive when you're in the wrong market. Wrong market = Wrong budget.

Not to everyone:
It's quite rude to say "this is too much money for JUST A LOGO!"

Just say "sorry it's too expensive for me" then move forward!
Logo design is more than just designing a logo, the design is just a creative result of all the hardwork from start to finish...

And not just to designers but to any other business - if a cleaning product for an example is too expensive for you, just move forward and find a cheaper one.
