Dairy Day

Day produces sterilised milk, maas, yoghurt, cream, fresh juice, dairy blends, butter and powdered milk. The combined company is owned by 31 dairy farmers in Kwazulu-Natal. Each farmer has a shareholding in direct relation to the number of litres they supply. Dairy Day farmers hold 85% of the shares of the operating entity. The remaining 15% of the shares in Dairy Day are held by the Dairy Day Farmers Workers Trust the beneficiaries being the supplier shareholders’ farm workers. Dairy day currently employs 1712 people and this number is expected to grow as the company gains traction in the market. Of this number 1628 are black employees. We believe in supporting local business. Agricultural Design Company ADC based in Howick built the facility. The 7500 square metre cold room was installed and is maintained by Echochill refrigeration and airconditioning.
