After a career as a nursing sister and a long standing passion for cooking and baking Janet Sawkins founded Madeleines. In 2003 she began training and lecturing at the school. She has always had a passion to excel in her chosen path. This week's Staff Favourite Special comes from Nombuso, one of the dedicated members of our hot kitchen team. Although she's usually working behind the scenes assisting our chefs, her hard work, helpful nature and willingness to jump in wherever needed make her an important part of the Madeleines family.
Her choice for this week is an Open Chicken Pesto Mayo Toastie served on toasted sourdough and topped with cheese, fresh tomato and rocket. It's fresh, flavourful and perfect for lunch.
Available for sit-in or takeaway at just R80, but only for this week.
